Educational workshop “How is the history of the children of Izieu written ?”

In addition to the guided tour of the museum and the house, a 2 hours educational workshop – among a large choice of themes – is proposed to school groups.
One of the most emblematic and asked is the one entitled “How is the history of the children of Izieu written ?”.
Pupils, divided in groups, investigate on archival documents of the Maison collections in order to find all living steps of a child or siblings of Izieu and their family. In a second time, they chart the all itinerary on a giant map they caption themselves.
This workshop aims to make pupils aware of the complexity of European Jewish families’ situations from the 1920’s to post-war years.
