International Colloquium Dictatures, Transitions And Gender On Both Sides: Spain-Argentina

20, 21, 22 and 23 November 2023

GRIHAN (Andalusian Historical Research Group HUM-331, University of Malaga) and IDEGEM-UNCuyo (Multidisciplinary Institute of Gender and Women Studies, National University of Cuyo) invite you to this colloquium, which will be held on 20, 21, 22 and 23 November 2023, through the following link: https://u.uma.es/eiP/

This event aims to promote a space for debate and exchange of knowledge from a gender and feminist perspective, on the dictatorial past in Argentina and Spain, encouraging collective discussion and reflection on the repressive state and paramilitary actions and other conflicts and violence during the last Argentine military dictatorship (1976-1983), the Franco regime (1939-1975) and the democratic transitions in both countries. The Colloquium, in which researchers from “both sides” of the Atlantic will participate, invites reflection on the theoretical and methodological implications of the use of feminist perspectives in the understanding of repressive processes, and foresees the consolidation of academic networks and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Spanish and Argentinean researchers related to gender studies, women’s history, feminisms and Human Rights.
