77th Anniversary of the Massacre of the 67 Martyrs of Fossoli

On July 12, 1944, 67 political prisoners, taken from the nearby concentration camp of Fossoli, were massacred by the Nazi SS within the shooting range of Cibeno. The victims of the massacre came from 27 Italian provinces, had different social backgrounds, and represented the various antifascist spirits of the time. The President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, participated in the commemoration on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Nazi massacre at Cibeno in the Fossoli Camp, on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
