International Conference: Sites of Transit in Europe from WW2 to the present. History, Spaces, Memories

Moving from the historical experience of Fossoli, during the conference Italian and International scholars of History, Philosophy, Architecture, Semiotics, Memory Studies, Museology, Public History, Cultural Heritage, History Teaching will analyse transit sites as cultural and architectural spaces, in different historical contexts in Europe. They will deal with the control and management of people’s movement in different conditions of constraint. Particular attention is paid to POW and concentration camps under Nazi and Fascist rule, deportations, refugees and DPs, migration, whether forced or not.
