Co-creative drawn story
- REMEMCHILD -
Maison d’Izieu has appealed to the class of 4-6 Collège Sabine Zlatin (Belley). Their drawings make up this collective creation.
The project has begun on September 14 2023 and ends on November 1 2023.
During the three months the project lasted, the Maison d’Izieu has appealed to the class of 4-6 Collège Sabine Zlatin (Belley) of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in order to conceive the co-creative drawn story. Their drawings make up this collective creation.
The Year 9 class (n°6) of the Collège Sabine Zlatin, in which there are 30 pupils aged 13 years old, is supervised by three teachers : Mrs Peggy Di Fabio, history and geography teacher, Mrs Céline Faugère, fine arts teacher, and Mrs Rosy Caire, Italian teacher.
In April 2023, the Maison d’Izieu appealed to the Year 9 class (n°6) of the Collège Sabine Zlatin of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in order to contribute to the co-creative drawn story, which they accepted gladly.
On September 14 2023, a few days after the start of the school year, the Maison d’Izieu team welcomed them. During this sunny day, the pupils, their teachers and the artists working with them followed a guided tour of the house (the former Children’s Home) and the parts in the museum dedicated to the historical context and international justice. The pupils of the Collège Sabine Zlatin participated to one of our educational workshops entitled « How is the history of the children of Izieu written ? ». Thanks to archives and testimonies, they rebuilt the itineraries of four families linked to Izieu before tracing them on giant maps of the european continent.
This day represented for all the official launch of the collective Co-creative drawn story creation.
In the next three months, from September 15 to December 19, the class worked on their artistic project, while the Maison d’Izieu remained at their constant disposal for any question, precision and to follow step by step the work in progress.
On December 19, the teachers and artists sent us their final project:
- A fresco made of looks in charcoal surrounded by photographs created by the Year 9 class of the Collège Sabine Zlatin
On the eve of Christmas holidays, the models were sent to the printer in order to discover them full-size on the opening day.
